Basic Experimental Center of the Traffic Equipment and Control Engineering Department is part of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University. It has multiple laboratories: Mechanical Principle Laboratory, Mechanical Design Laboratory, Hydro Pneumatic Transmission and Control Laboratory, Electromechanical Control Laboratory, Measurement and Control Technology Laboratory, Metallographic Specimen Preparation And Heat Treatment Laboratory, Hardness Testing Laboratory, Metallographic Observation and Analysis Laboratory, Mechanical Structure Analysis Laboratory, Thermal Basic Laboratory.
After years of construction, particularly the support from a special fund for improving basic teaching conditions for the Central Universities in 2017, this center got many experimental equipment and set up corresponding experimental teaching system. The total value of instruments and equipment is about 6 million yuan. It occupies roughly 850 sq.m. and is mainly located on the 1st and 2nd floors of No.2 teaching building in Zhongshan Liang in Emei Campus.
At present, this center have 4 permanent staff , who are in charge of many experimental courses in the Traffic Equipment and Control Engineering Department. At the same time, this center provides services for the scientific research, students' graduation design, undergraduate innovation and entrepreneurship training program and machine innovation competition, etc.
